LIVELIHOOD PROGRAM FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED WOMEN:

TWISTED DONUTS MAKING

April 11th, 2025

On April 11, 2025, a twisted donut-making livelihood program was held for 25 underprivileged women in Barangay Mabiga, Mabalacat City. This initiative was a partnership with fourth-year social work students from Systems Plus College Foundation (SPCF). The program aimed to provide the participants with a sustainable source of income by equipping them with the skills needed to start their own small business.

The training focused on the practical aspects of food preparation and entrepreneurship. Participants learned to prepare donut dough, fry the pastries to achieve a soft and chewy texture, and coated with sugar. The program also included an overview of business management basics, such as cost-effective ingredient sourcing, pricing strategies, and marketing tips. Upon completion, each participant received a starter kit and a training certificate.

This livelihood program is part of a broader effort to support and empower the city's underprivileged women, giving them the tools for financial independence. By teaching a marketable skill, the program helps participants provide for their families while building self-confidence and a sense of empowerment.
